Tam|muz «TAHM mooz; Biblical TAM uhz», noun.
1. the tenth month of the Jewish civil year and the fourth month of the ecclesiastical year, occurring in June and often part of July.
2. Babylonian Mythology. a god of the springtime and plant growth, who annually returned to earth from the lower world, symbolizing the rebirth of vegetation in spring. Also, Thammuz.
